The lighter side of English dining
Upstairs at Romano’s at Simpson’s, a lively and sociable atmosphere awaits. Hewing to its heritage as a stomping ground for London’s artistic set, it offers a modern, open-all-day Grand Café-style interpretation of English cooking that changes with the seasons and is enjoyed from mid-morning and into the evening. Our contemporary cocktails and largely French wine list are both full of surprises and delights. Romano’s is a 21st-century answer to an artistic salon, and the goings-on are silently observed and enjoyed by the 20th-century playwrights – some familiar, some forgotten – whose portraits line the walls.

“To Romano's flocked the Bohemians, men and women of the greasepaint, authors, journalists, artists of all kinds, soldiers, sailors (but not of "other ranks"), men of the law, of finance, of the racecourse and the prize-rings-and crooks as well.”
